"To discover through a painting or a poem a space beyond names.
A place where naming things not only fails to summarize what is known, but rather, is no longer necessary for us.
Instead, a pure and direct experience has emerged. A kind of free cognition of the concept.
Some works thus manage to show us something fresh. Something closer to the mystery of the phenomenon. Something more appropriate to its essence. Evanescent. And mutant.
For things are beyond our names. And they certainly don't know the names we give them.
There they breathe, fresh, lush and full of nuance.
Until we name them again.
Going in there is not easy.
There's nowhere to go.
There's no a priori, no map, no destination.
There is no object to illustrate, no ideology to demonstrate. There are no supports or marked paths. There is no before or after.
It is an attentive and loving response to what is presented, from moment to moment.
I celebrate when artists like Graciela Corrao and Bibi Anguio have the freedom and the skill to sail around. Sensitive to the essence of phenomena. Respectful of the unmentionable nature of this world and its things. "
